If I'm charging for the job, I prefer to remove the board and solder the capacitors to the print. It saves the joint at the PCB track going dry jointed.
BTW, in the manual for my Korting tape recorder the manufacturer, the instructions for replacing parts on circuit boards is exactly as Glyn does.
