It is worth noting that in fruit machines that the supply voltage often has little connection with the lamp voltage.
A 55 volt supply and 12 volt lamps was one common arrangement, the lamps being driven in a multiplexed array such that each one was only "on" at a very low duty cycle.

I have seen UK fruit machines with a mains transformer suitable for either UK or USA mains.
