Thank you Dave for your comments which I’ve noted. I have received a lot of advice in other posts on this subject which I am very grateful for.
Some more pictures and it is obvious that the Lid and Main Cabinet are a mismatch, so I’ve decided to work on the Main Cabinet. I know it will not look like the original finish but as a novice, on Cabinet work, I decided to have a go.
