Andy, that is superb! Thank you so much for taking the trouble to scan and post the information. The probes are what I imagined, although the series resistors aren't shown. It is of course possible that with 60 feet of lead, the resistance of the cable was sufficient to ensure the meter remained in calibration. My Record instrument is the second one described. I think the first is the Evershed & Vignoles model.
