Possibly a box to output 50hz pseudo sinewave to power a UK 50Hz record deck from 60Hz mains supply.
The 33/45 switch would change the frequency of the output allowing you to run the deck at 45rpm without changing speed on the deck itself, just leave the deck set to 33.
