But I don't think the filter which will exclude posts we don't like, needs to be psychic - merely acausal, having an impulse response which starts before t=0. When I worked in acoustics I sometimes needed to turn a desired (complex) response in frequency into an FIR time-domain approximation, and I got to be quite a dab-hand at designing acausal filters
