If you have difficulty getting a third party microphone to work nicely I believe I have one or two original Pye M290 / MX290 microphones (with plugs fitted) stashed somewhere in the loft. They may be either conventional fist type microphones or the quirky looking 'shaver' microphones, not sure what I have left.
