You should find the the diode/resistor arrangement quite satisafctory as there is little chance in finding a Contact Cooled direct replacement nowadays. The Service Sheet for the Model 60 can be downloaded from the "Service Data" link top RHS. Philco record players from this period always had an excellent bass response, noticeably better than their peers.
