Those great books - also things like PE Nucleonics for the home experimenter series in the mid 60's - great things for kids back in the day even if they did make you glow in the dark. My favourite one was in a boys hobby book under rifle shooting "Never shoot at a closed door as someone may come though it!'. One imagines Victorian lads blazing away at numerous doors.
