One approach - perhaps the standard one - for using conventional cameras to image X-rays is to use a fluorescer optimised for X-ray-to-visible conversion and then to couple the light from the fluorescer to the camera optically e.g.

As part of a medical trial I once had a tube threaded down to a specific place in my intestine using real-time X-ray imaging to follow it on its way. I wasn't paying much attention to the technology unfortunately as the procedure was distractingly uncomfortable (let's just say that's an understatement ...). But it seemed to work pretty well. They gave me the attached still image as a souvenir.
