Normally I wouldn't be able to leave it at that and would have to find the real cause - maybe there is a hairline crack through one of the various earth tracks running around the board and your new link has restored it or provided an acceptable alternative path. Provided no other aspect of the set's operation is compromised by this modification I think I'm inclined to say 'we'll take that'.
