Re: Sord Computer M68 System Disk
CP/M and its relatives were interesting - and problematic if only because of the way the base operating-system was written so as to make it really-easy to configure a vast slew of different peripherals such as floppy- and early hard-disks.
Different numbers of tracks/sectors, soft- or hard-formatted, single- or double-sided - back then there were loads of smallish disk-drive manufacturers all with their own preferred formats - and a similarly-small manufacturer of computers could get someone to write-up a P/M filestructure to handle them. Making life really difficult for those who - 40 years on - have to try and prepare a boot-disk!
