I spend a lot of my time wandering around junk shops these days (you can still find them hidden amongst the charity shops) and if there is one thing that makes me grind my teeth it is this fad for 'distressing' furniture by painting it with emulsion and then scraping the paint half off. It should have its correct title of cowboys wrecking perfectly good antiques.
