Hello Helder

Yes - I agree her children urged her to "dump that old thing no one will be interested in it".

One of my favourite 'rescues' is a Sobell T143 found by a roofer in a loft in Crystal Palace. His workmates had already put 'that load of rubbish' in the skip. He bet them that someone would want it. I saw it on eBay and paid £20 enjoyed a trip down memory to collect it - I spent 6 weeks "guarding" a manhole cover on Crystal Palace Parade in the winter of 1967 whilst working as an apprentice with the GPO - Coaxial cable gang.

I sent him pictures of it working showing the ITA Croydon testcard and he sent me a picture of him spending his winnings with his workmates in the pub!

He was a kindred spirit old British cars were his passion. Lovely bloke everyone wins!

Regards Steve.
