One of the few times my mother in law praised me was a repair on her tape recorder - the socket for the adaptor had never been soldered onto the pcb!! there was no solder on the bright pins or the pc board; the wave must have missed it somehow on the assembly line - all else was fine/beautifully soldered. Weird.
