Interesting Tim, I will excavate mine over the next few days and give it some power! They were very popular and gave a fair picture, a bit like Technicolor and customers loved them. I used to stock all the 'Compactron' valves and still have a few spares for my Teleton. VERY American and I think the 12 pin valves had .45amp heaters. A common fault was cracks across the valve bases.
