Default Re: Ferguson Videostar and Fisher Studio Standard collector

Hi

I liked the Ferguson 3V35. It was a very well made machine and excellent for servicing. They were extremely reliable electrically and most faults were put right with a mechanical service ie belts, idlers and clutches. The upper drum was very easy to replace and was reasonably priced. The only weak point on the 3V35/6/8 machines was the capstan motor which often became very noisy. I replaced quite a few of these and again it was a very quick operation. The deck was clearly designed for easy servicing like it's 3V29 predecessor. I have a 3V38 which I will get around to servicing one day.

Regards
Symon.
