I remember playing with a new video recorder that used 1/4" ordinary recording tape. It ran at a very fast speed but the results were poor even with a Philips 17TG100U as a monitor. This must have been around 1964/5.

I cannot recall the maker but the model number was something like VTR500. The makers name may have started with an F. John.
