It looks like the Grid has quietly dropped its previous responsibility to keep the mean frequency at 50Hz over a 24 hour period.

I don't know how many synchronous clocks are still in use, but I guess they're a dying breed. The Grid is presumably relying on that to take their relaxed attitude.

Still a puzzle that there's an implication that it's somehow connected with the Continental frequency problems. Fake news maybe?
