Things will get scary when the EHT transformer is reconnected. The EHT transformer carries the heater windings for the timebase valves and CRT. It's a legacy from when the early versions of the 1800 and 1804 had the facility to operate sound only. The HT supply transformer has the heater windings for all the valves in the signal circuits.

Connecting up the signal generator reveals that the sound IF is 11Mc/s, that's a long way from the original EMI frequency of 4Mc/s.
So what's the vision IF? We'll find out tomorrow.
