The clearance between the bottom of the platter and the top of the deck should be about 3mm. I'd take the deck out of the plinth, put the belt back on and set the height so that the belt run is straight (remember to do the right way up as the motor is mounted on springs). Then measure how much of the spindle is sticking up and the top and loctite the platter to the shaft in that position.
