That doesn’t sound good. The unit was catching when I got it. So I guess the platter had slipped down the spindle.

The platter is still a good fit on the spindle and I cannot see any cracks in the casting.

How do I know how high it should be on the spindle? There are what appears to be two small grooves on the spindle.
