I have an illustrated 1935 Marconi booklet about the design of the aerials and feeders of the Alexander Palace transmitter that might be of interest, although it does not discuss power or range. I do have it scanned it to a single PDF but at over 6MB it is too big to post as a single document so here it is in five parts. Interesting for its use of the rather complex hyperbolic chart that its designers had to use for transmission line calculations in the days before Mr Smith invented his famous chart. In the 1990's I came across a pad of those hyperbolic charts (approx A3 size) in a drawer in the Library of the Marconi Research Centre where I was then working. They obviously hadn't been touched for years.
