WDH-210DB-16R de-humidifier

2 Attachment(s)
Hi, not quite vintage but I’m sure most of use one in their shed or garage.

This one I have had from new (an Amazon purchase) now doesn’t turn on. It’s unbranded but has the model WDH-210DB-16R

I suspect it might be as simple as a bad float switch on the tank, but trying to get the unit apart is proving tricky. There are two self tapping screws hidden behind the top handle, which are inaccessible. Presumably the handle pops out somehow.
Anyone had one apart ?

Thanks,
Retrotechie

I managed to pop the handle out (it needs to be a certain angle and then just needs a bit of persuasion).
The micro switch checks ok.
Next step is to take out the control board and investigate further.
There’s a basic diagram of the workings, which I’ve attached.

I believe the compressor types don’t work at low temperatures (below 10 degrees), so could it have switched itself off as the weather turned colder?

Hi Stuart, good suggestion but it was around 15degrees at the time, and I have since brought it indoors to work on.
So far, I have checked the micro switch and some capacitors on the control board.
Will report back once I know more.
