Stylus identification?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello all.
I have been repairing (restoring) a HMV 2402 stereomaster and it had a new stylus with it (not fitted) unfortunately when I came to change it out the new stylus is the wrong one. It says on the box of the new stylus ST4. In the picture I have posted the white one on the left is the new ST4 one andthe black one on the right is the old very worn out one that I'm not sure about. I also can't be sure if the arm has its original pick-up, the BSR turntable has no model number on it. Thanks in advance for any info. |
Re: Stylus identification?
It does look like an ST one for a BSR cartridge. On some stylus sales sites you can see photos of them to compare. I would hazard a guess at ST 12 but check the photos.

Is there a number on the cartridge like on the side or top of it? Or if can you post a photo of the cartridge that may help. Looks like a BSR ST12 but don't quote me on that. Hopefully someone will confirm for you.

Re: Stylus identification?
That Black stylus does not look like a BSR type. The BSR "ST" stylus range alway used off-white plastic mouldings. Maybe the cartridge fitted is a Sonotone 3059?

Thanks for the reply's, Just been looking at the pictures but I can't be sure, it would help if they put something like a coin in the picture so I could get an idea of the size.
Unfortunately the pick up has no numbers or other markings, see pictures. |
Re: Stylus identification?
Stylus is Acos GP104.
