We have a BT 7610 phone with four hand sets. Is there a way in which we can ring/call from one hand set to another around the home or down the garden. Ted

On our 8650's (which seems to have a similar user interface just in B/W), uses the contact list/phone book to do internal phone calls with a list of the other phones on the system).

Yes.

Another User advised there are so many Features, downloading the full Manual was required, suggesting it is not originally supplied with the 7610.
