Avo DA212 clean up

Well it's not much of a resoration, but I'm happy with the results.

Avo DA212, the usual leaked battery incident.

So, I mixed bicarbonate of soda in water to make a paste (thanks for the tip Jeremy) and applied it to the contacts.

Some of the contacts I later took out and coated them on a plate.

One the terminals were cleaned very well with the soda, I cleaned them up with a carbon steel wire wheel on a Dremel to polish them up which works a treat.

The negative wire to the PCB needed to be replaced as some of the corrosion had wicked its way up the wire and by the time I could find clean copper, the wire was too short.

So after that, a good general clean of the empty casings....then back to the bench for a post clean test.

Post clean test shows the results of this DA212 agree very closely with my in calibration Fluke 87V.

Tested fine to it's full scale at the 200V ranges and again at 1000V DC and 750V AC ranges. Other ranges are fine too.
