Forum Outage - "Resource Limit Is Reached"
 

Hi.

A few times this evening I've been getting this message: "Resource Limit Is Reached
The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later."

and have been unable to access this site.

Yes I have noticed that too, I'm emailing the hosting company to find out what's causing it.

+1, I have just (Tuesday night) had that error a few times instead of the expected page.

The hosting company have confirmed that nothing has changed with the server, which confirms my checks.

There appears to have been a high level of activity from four IP addresses yesterday evening, accessing the site almost constantly. One was a spider from a Russian search engine which I have now blocked. The other three are normal UK ISP connections (three different ISPs), so maybe people trying to download the whole site with website grabbing software?

Hopefully it was just a one-off. Everything is now fine, and the parameter it was being limited on yesterday is now at only around 5% of the limit.

If it reoccurs please post here, and include the times it happened if possible as that allows the hosting company to check the specific area in the logs.
