AR88 Tuning lock

Hi again guys

The manual mentions a "Tuning Lock" located under the tuning knob, however on my AR88D there is only a tiny hole under the knob - so I suspect something is missing but what?. Can anyone shed some light on the construction and what is missing?

Originally, there would have been a screw (6-32 NC?) in that threaded hole with a large thumbscrew head whose end bears on a small sprung plate that acts as a friction lock pressing on the tuning flywheel. Quite why it should be missing is difficult to explain- it has quite a long shank, so it doesn't fall off by accident, but who can explain what happens to things over the years!
