Northampton Amateur Radio.

After initially enjoying the prospect of building and restoring vintage radios, I've got the bug and decided to go for my radio ham license, foundation, intermediate then full.

I will need it anyway if I'm going to properly test and if the equipment i work on.

Does anyone know where the nearest radio ham club to Northampton is? I would like to go along and get to meet people of a similar mind once lockdown lifts.

Many thanks

Steve

Do you need a club to do the (because of Covid-19) online exams?

Much better, always take a pen/pencil and paper for the odd circuit diagram etc.!

This takes me back, I was a member of the Northampton club.
Joined in 1970 when I was 11.Passed the C an G exam when I was 13.
They found me to be very useful crawling through the roof at Thornton’s Park pulling cables.
Even had a picture of me at the club published in the Chronicle and Echo being the youngest member.

My son and his family now live at Kelmarsh [5 miles south of Market Harborough]. We are keen to see them again after a year! It's 11 miles away, not one minute from the Obelisk Steve but that's only the distance between Bury and Manchester. [Ramsbottom is another 5 miles north]. I may yet turn up at the Northampton Club one day .
