Murphy A50 finished at last.

This Murphy has been on the waiting to finish list for about ten years ;D the dial drum was distorted, dial cover with station names missing ,then a bit of luck I was offered a complete set as a donor the cabinet was scrap ,thank's Chris also a big thank's to Jerry for supplying the speaker cloth ,the rubber trim along the bottom and top it was a mucky white originally but I prefer the brown finish. I used edging strip used for sealing around shower's etc.
It's a pity about the mirror finish this is the best out of the two, it looks like the glue used to fix a paper backing has had a reaction with the silvering ,causing the dark patches, the chassis was completely restored some ten years ago, I must say the performance is very good , excellent audio quality. Mick.

That is a really fine restoration indeed, I have one of these but not as smart as yours. I would be interested in obtaining some of this speaker cloth, it looks very close to the original, does "Jerry" have anymore?
I too had to replace the rubber trim and decided on a darker colour as well, fantastic sounding radio, nice to see another one!
