I seem to be having difficulties accessing this. On my computer running Firefox, it simply says it can't run the video on this browser; on the one running Microsoft Edge, the page simply crashes. I assume the problem is at my end, but it's odd that I'm have problems with two different computers.

The BBC Archive thread has some interesting snippets: article about the first woman news-reader (Nan Winton, just died @ 93) and the problems she had with the male-dominated culture of the 50's.

It doesn't require either Adobe Flash or a Twitter account to view it, using FF 67.0 on OS X 10.13.6.
