Thanks to Peter [Reelguy] for dashing round to shower me with DVD recorders and a E55 remote for my existing emergency back up machine. At that point we discovered it was the same as not one but two remotes that I had already:-] [There is an explanation but I can't remember it]. Non-the-less his archive is keeping me going for the time being. I went back to full time reliance on VCR's for a week but it was hard work by comparison:wall:
Thanks again Peter-Bexhill's R to Reel Guru!

Grateful thanks to electroanorak (Daniel) who sent me some MC1377P ICs despite Royal Mail's determination to misdirect them, which meant that he had to send them twice.

Daniel also included some spares, and refused to take anything for any of them - A real gent.

Hi folks

I would like to say thank you to Steve (fettler) for supplying me with a frequency counter that initially would not count and needed the fault put right. And thanks to everyone who has given a little help with suggestions on the fault, I have now successfully repaired the counter by replacing one of the IC's namely a MC10116P which is better known as a Triple Line Receiver I obtained a couple of these from Little Diode who specialise in obsolete types of components such as these.

Best wishes

Ken:thumbsup:

My grateful thanks to the following:-

1) Member Gommster (Dave) for the Books, Farnell PSU and Heathkit Distortion Meter I selected from his Charity Clear-out;

2) JohnBHanson for the BT301 Cable Tester - I really enjoyed my trip to Worthing for it!

3) Bryan M for offering me the Learnakit Scope - I propose to fully document this on here, the idea being anyone who has one of the earlier valve models can make a comparison and try reconstructing a transistor model of their own - I believe the same cabinet/chassis was used in both the valved and transistor models!

4) Member Omegaman for the G4PMK Spectrum Analyser Information!

Thank you all very much Gentlemen!

Many thanks to the moderation team for letting certain threads go on for as long as they have. No real harm was done, even after the topic had fallen below the horizon; the posts still bore some relationship to one another, even if not the very first post; the tone was still civil; and ..... well, sometimes it's just nice to enjoy the walk and the talk, even if you've already seen what you originally set out to see.

Hi,

I just wanted to thank Steve (Colourstar) for the radios he sold me in this thread:

https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=115091

The Bush is working beautifully with my new modulator. So I now have Serenade on tap ;D

I have only one concern: it is on a shelf on the party wall. I might put a piece of carpet under it, just in case Paul Robeson's lower registers find their way into my neighbour's front room :o
