Encapsulating output tx's
 

Just a thought before I paint these , I have fitted two EL84 push pull output tx's in aluminium boxes to make them look pretty , question ! the wires may be crossing each other primary side sec should be ok , thought's please Mick.

No problem at all (as long as the insulation holds up!). All the wires carry the same signal so crossover isn't an issue.

Thank's that's good news , a picture of the tx's before painting , they were made of 3" box section the top was glued on using araldite the corners rounded off , they will be satin black. "nice " Mick.

That's a great way to finish off a TX, I was thinking of folding something up but this looks better.

That's a brilliant idea Mick, I built a 300B SET amp a couple of years back and couldn't really find decent enclosures that fitted the Hammond transformers and looked right (plus they were pretty expensive). Also I rather underestimated the weight of the finished amp meaning it was easy to slightly twist the chassis when moving unless supported equally all round.

This has inspired me to revisit the project and start some metal bashing, so thanks!

Hi Joe , the transformers were ex equipment , I had to have one rewound , if the other one packed up in the near future ,I can easily remove it and replace , no other reason , Mick.
