Re: Collaro Conquest - a pictorial guide to servicing this deck.

There were a number of versions based on this Autochanger including the "Challenger" and the later, more refined, "Studio". Then came the Maganvox US versions.

Collaro never made anything easy and the pick-up set set down position on the earliest versions has to be accessed by removing the platter. At the one o'clock position on the deck plate you will see a fine slotted brass screw. This actuates the spacing on an eccentric cam. Turning to the left pulls the pick-up set down in towards the record centre and the opposite by turning to the right. This adjustment is quite sensitive, but positive in its action. It's quite fiddly as on the earliest versions of the Conquest, one needs to remove the platter each time so as to test it out by trial and error.

Later versions provided a hole in the platter to allow more more ready access. Just lift up the mat, no need to remove it. This info may help those who have an out-of-adjustment deck and can be read in conjunction with Michael Maurice's excellent pictorial guide.
