Vintage Radio Identification Sought
 

Can anyone help identifying this radio which looks very like a 1939 Pilot Little Maestro 1939-45 as can be seen at:-

except that the tuning dial is different. Perhaps an earlier or export model?

Unfortunately the only available external photo is poor and of a set with a heavily damp-affected dial, but I think this Raymond may be the model:

The knobs of the set in your image look like a type I'm familiar with from Derwent radios, I've not seen them on a Pilot. After looking at Derwent sets, I checked out the associated Raymond brand and found this one.

I've just done a Raymond electric f17 and it looks like it uses the same (or a very similar) chassis. It was quite a straightforward set to work upon and performance and sound quality are quite respectable. I was pleasantly surprised.

I have what seems to be the Bakelite version of your radio, I've never been able to workout what mine is, there is nothing on the back and the logo unclear.
Maybe the same chassis was use by different manufactures.

The monogram in the dial centre is JGG - it's the version by J. G. Graves of Sheffield.

The position of the dial pointer and knobs suggests that the picture in the YouTube video was lifted from these forums.

It's the same image, but the forum link I gave above is from August 2010 and the image is used for YouTube videos that were put up a year earlier. Google Image Search found 233 uses of the picture, so it's beyond me to work out where it originated, but evidently not here unless there's an earlier instance of it on the forum.
