National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
4 Attachment(s)
Friend bought this around for me to look at for him, it has reduced width leaving about 10mm either side. Other than that it works fine.
I have not been able to find a manual for it online, are there any stock faults for these before I strip it down which looks to be quite involved. Thanks |
Re: National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
Leave it running for a while. If the width increases, most likely a slow electrolytic in the horizontal. You could simply replace all within the vicinity if unsure.

It was on for 4 hours today with no change, the capacitors would normaly be my first call though.

Re: National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
So far changed all electrolytic power supply capacitors along with the ones in the horizontal section C417 C418
No change so far but still investigating. |
Re: National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
Hi
Can't see in the pictures, but many small-screen sets used a high value capacitor to couple the line scan coils. That could be a suspect if there is one. Glyn PS Should engage brain first - looking at the excellent diagram I'd look at C412 and C410. |
Re: National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
Thanks Glyn,
I have C412 out at the moment so we are one the same track at least. Now to test it. |
Re: National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
Those capacitors check out fine, so went back to the power supply again.
Found D75 which I believe to be a 5.1volt zenner diode with no voltage across it, testing shows an almost identical short both ways. |
Re: National Panasonic TR-565G Component television
The 5.1volt Zener diode D75 restored normal operation.
