Perhaps slightly off topic, in 1980 Mitsubishi used the clever idea of having the image reflected back onto a fixed focal length screen in their 50" colour projection TV. Sony did the same the following year. I have no idea if Mitsubishi re invented the wheel, so to speak, or .....they too came across the Nera design!

1 Attachment(s)
Chassis layout of the NERA C30. Everything looks fairly straight forward. In the event of timebase failure the receiver does have protection for the CRT.
Item 7: thermistor compensating unit. What's that all about?
EHT generation will be from the 25KV Philips unit. The optics will also be Philips.

I'm going to guess David. Could it be something to stabilize the focus? John.

Hi John,
You could well be right because there is no indication of a focus stabiliser valve which was usually an EL41 power pentode.
The set does have a CRT protection valve but it's impossible to tell what type of valve was employed.
