Taylor 65B RF connector.

I have a Taylor 65B generator (unmolested) which retains its peculiar choice of RF output socket. In time, I will almost certainly replace it with a BNC connector.
I was wondering, however, if anyone has - or has come across - an original lead with matching plug, or just the plug for this socket? It has the appearance of the sort of two pin bridging plug once much used to select the correct primary tapping on a mains transformer to match the supply. The pins are dissimilar sizes (as with the foregoing) but the spacing is narrower - about 1/4" imperial. I have attached an image of the socket. |

I'm not familiar with that plug.
I have a Taylor 68, which is a very handy unit, but fitted with a flush Belling Lee coax socket which proved to be quite unreliable in use, when you do really want a constant signal level. I eventually replaced that with a BNC, which may look out of place, but was a big improvement functionally. B |

It looks awfully like an LT battery connector.

I don’t have it to hand at the moment but my Taylor came with a 2” long cylindrical metal tube that has the 2 pin connector at one end and a rubber grommet at the other. From the grommet came a length of twin cotton covered rubber wire, like you see on very old table lamps. Having never opened it I presume it is actually a “dummy aerial”.

Here is the one I got with mine.
There is a 0.01uf built in for DC blocking when connecting to an (AC Radio) to block DC from the attenuator. Replace it. Sometimes I use a (200 ohm) for the Aerial Inputs. Hope this helps. gezza123 |

I have to say that my 1.5v battery connector is NOT the same as the one in Gezza's photos, the pins on the one shown are longer and probably of different diameters. Sorry,Les
