SMD Hot Air Soldering SMD Jig

4 Attachment(s)
Finding the tiny SMD components tend to blow away when trying to rework with hot air station, + getting older and a little bit shakier trying to use tweezers, I made up this little device out of old bits and pieces laying around. length of brass brazing rod a bit of copper 15mm pipe and a little bit of lead. works a treat.

Good idea, I think every one has their own method. I used one of the cable ties that come with new appliances. That's the plastic ones with the wire down the middle, dip the end in a little flux and the transistor can be picked up, placed and held in place. I should add I use a soldering iron and not hot air
