Re: Vintage British Speakers - Advice Please.

Another recommendation for the Wharfedale Dovedale, the later one with switches on the back, they are really my favourite speaker. They will most likely need re foam / rubbering, I have documented my efforts on DiyAudio. The tweeter can sound a little fierce if provoked but mostly just lovely and excellent clear mids and deep bass. And they love the valve amp.

If the voice coils rub on the 600 woofer you can turn them round by 180o. They are not dissimilar to the Dovedales, and most likely have the same tweeter.

Collected the Leaks today. Cabinets & grilles in surprisingly good condition, speakers themselves seem perfect and the sound is, on a first listen, pretty good. The bass is certainly "full" without drowning out the other elements :) Well worth the gamble.
