Silver box with a heatsink and a 33-45 switch

Don't know what it does I think it runs off 120v, as it was in a box with a UK to US voltage converter.
It has a pic16c54c chip and a US 2 pin input and a 2 pin output with a + on one side. |
Re: Silver box with a heatsink and a 33-45 switch
Possibly a box to output 50hz pseudo sinewave to power a UK 50Hz record deck from 60Hz mains supply.
The 33/45 switch would change the frequency of the output allowing you to run the deck at 45rpm without changing speed on the deck itself, just leave the deck set to 33. Peter |
Re: Silver box with a heatsink and a 33-45 switch
With a US input and output socket and a 240:120 converter and "over here" it sounds more like a converter for a US 60Hz deck over here than t'other way about.
All that heatsinking suggests a few watts of output. Plug it all in and see what comes out of the socket- beware it may not be mains isolated! |

I'm tempted to see what happens when I plug it in I'll use my isolation transformer.
