Jumble sales at the National Museum of Computing

Opening time is 10.00, doors won't open before then!
Finish time is 16.00.

Entrance is via the gates to the Bletchley Park site, but TNMOC is a completely independent museum and there is no need to buy a ticket for BP. After going through the entrance barrier, turn left at the T-junction and then keep going until the far end of the road (straight on at the vintage roundabout). The entrance to the sale room is on the right.
If in doubt, the BP parking guides will show you the way if you ask for the Computer Museum.

The room is prepped, better layout this time (as suggested by Jeremy at the last one).

There is no charge to enter the sale, and if you spend £15 or more you can get a free ticket for the museum (normally £7.50 / £5 for over 60's).

This is wonderful and so tempting, even if just to root around. Unfortunately I don't have my own transport and its a bit too far for me to travel to Bletchley. I would have loved to buy an oscilloscope. Strangely I purchased a pair of oscilloscope leads at a charity shop today.

Good luck today, and I hope you raise lots of money for the National Museum of Computing. It’s a very worthy cause and you do have some lovely jumble.

Darn - forgot about it. I'd have snapped up that Tektronix scope lurking under the bench...

Oh well, I have more than enough Tektronix gear really.

Thanks for the comments, and to all who attended. Sorry about the clash with the Radiophile auction!

The sale raised about £700 for the museum.

The next one is on Sunday October 13th, with another pile of stuff to be extracted from the stores.

Um -I hope I'm not misreading and that that AVO EA113 went for a bit more than that apparent ticket says. They've become a bit cultish because they're specified for calibration of one or more of the deified AVO valve testers and thus nothing else is capable of imparting the requisite electronic sanctification. Someone may have got a bargain if so, but the Museum would be short as a result.

It looked like it was marked as £50. Fair, possibly quite good price. I don't need yet another one! Now at 50p, that's another matter...

Thanks for the information.
The EA113 had a label attached advising it was damaged and non-working but that the movement was probably OK for a spare.
So somebody might have got a bargain - but even if they restore it, I don't suppose it will ever qualify as a calibration instrument.

The EA113 is a rather nice little meter. High input Z, bandwidth I measured to 200kHz, and seem to often not be far out of cal. Batteries last an amazing long time

50p's a bargain without the electronic sanctification effect (nice phrase!)

Having just got back from the Radiophile auction, I can say that going to Bletchley would have been a much cheaper day out for me :)

Sad to have missed this one - maybe make the October one.
