Re: The Thanks Thread
Thanks to Alan (Goldie99) for sending me heated shoe insoles just for the price of postage! The heat's concentrated right where it should be- at the front end. NiMH's on the cards i think- high charge density and the higher self discharge rate won't matter.

Re: The Thanks Thread
A huge thank-you to David T (David G4EBT) for the beautifully-constructed and laid-out FM-AM converter.
Not only did it arrive almost instantly, but the way it's put together is to professional standards (better, in fact, than commercial products as it uses "proper" solder), and it's finished off with an informative leaflet describing its operation etc. Truely plug-and-play too, apart from the PIC. I'm very impressed, and very grateful. THANK YOU, David :) |

Re: The Thanks Thread
Thanks to Paul Stenning for having a site Privacy and Cookie Policy which is easy to read, easy to understand and doesn't hide behind vague generalities. It is clear what you get if you are happy with it, and what still works if you don't accept it.
A few days ago I read the corresponding document from IEEE; you might think that such a member organisation would be similarly clear but it wasn't. |

Many thanks to George (Buggies) for the Russell Hobbs kettle parts to repair the fault reported here:
https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...d.php?t=135758 Being from a soft water area, George's element was in much better condition than my calcium encrusted one so it's better than I could have hoped. So quiet and quick! I've kept the original faulty switch and may try to dismantle it out of academic (& Forum) interest but it strongly resembles a round tuit... Thanks again, George. |
