Roberts R606 nasty speaker grille

Hi.
I'm new to collecting old radios at the moment transistor radios from the 50's/60s and 70's.

I have a couple of Roberts R606 radios that have the black horizontal bands or stripes on the metal speaker grille.

The paint has worn off over time and I would like to repaint them. Has anyone had experience of this and can you suggest a way to do this.

I've tried to use black permanent marker and it's more blue like and thin.

Thanks in anticipation.

I mask the silver bits with a thin tape and respray them black

Yep thanks.

I just trawled through the site and found a thread.

Thanks all the same. :-)

Then pass it over a vacuum cleaner nozzle to suck the holes clear, not too closely though or you suck all the paint through.
