Recommended Component Suppliers.
This thread can be used to post details of recommended component suppliers.
Include such details as web, or postal, address and telephone number of each supplier, plus a brief description of what that supplier supplies. Please indicate if the company is located outside the UK. Do not compare one supplier with another. No duplicates please. Let us know if the information is out of date. As some retail stores have very small stocks, it is advisable to check that what you require is in stock either on their website or by phone before visiting the store. To help you search quickly for the component(s) you require, please use "Search this thread" entering the name of your requirement as the keyword. |

Re: Recommended Component Suppliers.
Mode Components based in Birmingham
http://www.modecomponents.co.uk/ It helps if you email with order details and they can reply with the latest prices and stock availability. Probably the same as on their website. They're very good for obsolete and obscure semiconductors. If they haven't got what you want, it's worth asking to see if they can get it. Pete. |
Re: Recommended Component Suppliers.
Only just noticed this thread!
In this part of the world Jaycar are worth a look - they have a retail presence in NZ and Australia (we only have a 'stockist' here though, who doesn't actually stock much!) and web stores for NZ, Australia, UK, US and Canada. They're quite good for passives, ICs etc, and still do kitsets and the like. Dick Smith are now only any good for 1/2 w metal film resistors - they show a very limited range of other components on their website, but you'll struggle to find much in store. All the kitsets etc were dropped a couple of years ago. For heatshrink etc I use Radcliffe Electrical (aka J A Russell). Finally there's always RS, Farnell, Digi-Key etc who are either in or ship to NZ. |
