How to contact HiFi Engine?

Earlier today, when I logged into HiFi Engine (I've been a member for 6 years), and went to their 'Requests' section, a message 'You are not allowed to post new requests' (or words to that effect) appeared, and my previous posts appear to have been deleted. I searched their site to find a means of contacting them to ask why this has happened, as I'm not aware of breaking any of their rules, but there is no 'Contact Us' or 'Contact the Webmaster' option available. Does anyone know how to contact HFE in the above situation? I'm also a member of their sister site Vinyl Engine, and that is, or was about an hour ago, working OK

Re: How to contact HiFi Engine?

This page states there isn't a way to contact the web site, it is at the bottom of the page under contact info.
The website is provided as is and the only support is the FAQ's.
https://www.hifiengine.com/faq.shtml#t171n15666

Not a lot of help but may save you searching, perhaps create a new account.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with Vinylengine? They're not the same site. This has caught me out in the past.

Re: How to contact HiFi Engine?

Thanks, Frank and Nick, but I'm not mixing up the two sites. VE works perfectly OK, whilst my HFE accout works insofar as I can log in and access the various sections, but cannot post anything in the requests section, and my previous posts seem to have been removed. Maybe the only way out will be to close my account with HFE, then open a new one with a different Username & Password, though this won't restore my previous posts, and I'll never know the reason why the above happened.

I'll try that again. The section I metioned in the 'Requests' one. There is no 'Messages' section, and thus the 'Inbox', 'Sent messages', 'Blocked Users', etc panel doesn't appear. It may just be a software glitch for all I know.

Re: How to contact HiFi Engine?

I've checked HFE a minute ago, there is still no 'messages' section, and if I select 'Requests' I still get 'You are not allowed to post new content in the forum' SInce there is no means to contact HFE, and I can't send PMs, etc., I have no way to know why this has happened, but it's sice I tried to download the Schematics for a Bose Wave radio from HFE and, finding them virtually unreadable, I posted a comment/request about this, giving details of my PC, OS, etc., but no personal info. Next time I checked in, I received the 'Not Allowed' message. It would be good to know which of their rules I've inadvertantly transgressed, or whether any othe HFE members have also been blocked, whilst still retaining access to all other sections of their site.

I've just signed in and got to the message post section, as marked on pics below:

#1 Click on Message tab #5 down (as marked). this will take you to next page.

#2 Click on Write New Message as marked.

Bish-Bash-Bosh !

The point is, that, when I log on to HFE I do not get 'messages' in the list under 'My Account', nor to I get the page headed 'Messages', so cannot access any of those options.

I don't get the 'Messages' Page at all When I log in what is displayed is as in the screenshot, so I have no opprtuninty, as previously stated, to send messages.

Just for elimination purposes have you tried logging in on a different device such as your phone?

I don't have any other device except my tower computer, Mike. Perhaps unusual in this day and age!

In that case perhaps trying a different browser?

Re: How to contact HiFi Engine?

I've just tried logging in with IE, and still get the same result, Mike. THe only conclusions to which I can come, are either that I've inadvertently broken one of HFEs rules, or that there's a glitch in their software. The only thing I gained by going to IE was that I've now been able to download and print the Schematic Diagrams for the Bose WaveRadioCD, which I couldn't do when logging in via Firefox.

Re: How to contact HiFi Engine?

IE is usually pretty useless so if it works better than FF try Chrome.

It might still be a browser issue.

If not I am sure another member including myself would be prepared to contact HiFi Engine on your behalf.

Cheers

Re: How to contact HiFi Engine?

I just looked at the rules and it seems you may have been suspended although that's not clear.

Deleted Posts and Closed Threads

Sometimes posts are deleted or threads closed. Certainly posts that break any of the above rules will be deleted, but often posts that are in full compliance with the rules are also deleted. The primary reasons are twofold: one, the amount of disk space consumed by the forum is always a concern, so sometimes posts are deleted to conserve space; two, because forum posts are archived for future perusal, posts that are not of enduring and somewhat broad interest may be culled at our discretion. Note, by the way, that message deletions are never personal; it's just the way the system works. If a post of yours gets deleted or thread closed, don't post about it. Inexplicably, the realization that posts have been deleted or thread closed prompts some to post to the forum asking why. These posts are most definitely not of enduring interest for future perusal by general audiences. Therefore, they will be deleted and the member may be suspended indefinitely from further posting at our discretion. In any case, it does not make sense to post such questions to the forum anyway. The readers of the forum do not delete posts the forum admin does. If a post gets deleted, the best you'll get from anybody else about why is speculation. If you want to ask about why a post was deleted, email rather than posting the question to everybody. Note, however, that most of the time you won't get any more detailed an answer than the explanation in the previous bullet item as usually there isn't more of an explanation than that. In any case deleted posts are irrecoverable.

It looks as if you may have posted in compliance with the rule but have had the post deleted anyway.

One presumes there is a time limit to suspensions

Cheers

Thanks for your assistance, Mike, but I still wonder why I've been suspended. Would you mind contacting HFE on my behalf. It still seems odd that all my previous posts appear to have been deleted.
