Have you tried going into the main menu and set the SSB mic gain (the default is 50) ?

What frequency as well? Some modes are locked out on some bands.

''Not working''........................transmit or receive or both?

Thanks for replies, I have been looking further and discovered no receive or transmit and ssb mic is set at 50. I have taken the covers off and can't see anything loose but looking for dry joints would be a nightmare.

...And is that on all bands as well?

If you have not already tried it, just try doing a factory reset before looking for hardware causes for the problem - it could save you from disturbing the hardware / dismantling things unnecessarily.

If, after that, it looks like a hardware problem, the service manual (technical supplement) should be a good place to start.
