Another Marconi 2955A help please

Hello all, I have a Marconi 2955a belonging to a friend. This has the internal 1.6a fuse blown but no sign of blackening inside it. The only lighting on power up is the leds above the N and BNc sockets. There is no relay click on power up. I am wondering if the BU105 is prone to going sc and possibly taking out the LOPT. I have ordered some 1.6a slow blow fuses and as the multimeter I have is a cheap and nasty one I have bought an AVO 8 mk 4 on e bay. I have told my friend not to be too optimistic but I would like to give a good go at repair. I have used these excellent devices in my working life but this is my first attempt to repair one.
