FM transmission and Tunecast

From a previous thread on a Beam Echo tuner, I put considerable effort into re-aligning for a homebuild add-on stereo decoder only to discover that the majority of FM broadcasts are so heavily compressed that distortion is unavoidable.

I occasionally drop in to our local charity shop and noticed a Belkin Tunecast. This transmits in stereo or optionally mono and has a couple of preset modulation levels. The improvement is very noticeable even on the car stereo although obviously the volume is considerably lower. I will put it on a scope to see what it's frequency response is like but it looks at the very least to be a useful tool for checking FM radio performance.
